Alex Carr heads up the marketing communications team at CBSR and its sister organizations within the constellation. She has more than 15 years of experience working with and for blue chip corporations, government and NGOs in Canada, Australia, Europe and the U.S. Alex has extensive expertise across the range of marketing communication activities, with a focus on advancing sustainability and the low-carbon economy.
Alex has a Master of Communications from Sussex University and an undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia.
In her spare time, Alex likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible with her two young boys and dog.
As Chief Sustainability Officer for the constellation of organizations that includes The Delphi Group, GLOBE Series, Leading Change Canada, and Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR), Ted is responsible for ensuring each group is working in accordance with our vision, and making steady progress towards it through the specific missions of each entity.
Ted has over 25 years of experience working with leading-edge companies, governments and strategic initiatives to create value from combining business strategy and sustainability. Half of his experience has been with Delphi, helping business succeed through sustainability across most sectors of the economy, including: energy, food and beverage, retail, finance, telecom, manufacturing and transportation. He has delivered dozens of strategies for clients, and continues to work with many of them on ensuring successful implementation. He led Delphi as president from 2016 to the beginning of 2021.
Prior to joining Delphi, Ted worked for BC Hydro, where he was responsible for corporate sustainability strategy, policy engagement on carbon regulations, and climate change risk management. He also helped develop the first set of rules and guidelines for the international emission markets while working at Foreign Affairs Canada. Ted began his career at the David Suzuki Foundation.
Ted has a Masters Degree from the University of Northern British Columbia and an Honours undergraduate degree from Trent University.
Martha Hancock is an experienced leader in corporate social responsibility, brand marketing, philanthropy and environmental sustainability. She has worked for corporate, not-for-profit and entrepreneurial organizations. She specializes in building and implementing programs that drive brand value, social and environmental impact, employee engagement and revenue generation.
Prior to joining Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR), Martha was an Executive-in-Residence with Capacity Canada, a charity focused on not-for-profit governance and innovation. She worked with Manifest Climate to support companies with their TCFD disclosures. And at WWF Canada, she led the fundraising function as SVP, Development. In her corporate career, she managed the global corporate citizenship function at Manulife Financial as AVP, Philanthropy & Sponsorship and Chief Environmental Officer. She has led the development and roll-out of global community investment and corporate social responsibility strategies and been responsible for annual sustainability reporting. At RBC, she was a senior marketing strategist for commercial banking and supported over 12 industry segments as well as multiple product categories.
Martha holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University and an undergraduate degree from the University of King’s College/Dalhousie University in Halifax. She is a recent graduate of the Modern Board certificate program in not-for-profit board governance. She has been a board member of Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter, and currently volunteers with Toronto Home Retrofits, a community-based organization helping Torontonians decarbonize their homes.

As the Programs & Communications Coordinator, Abi is responsible for many of the inner functions of CBSR. This includes spearheading the monthly newsletter, on-boarding and maintaining member accounts, and conducting research to bring together many of our member services.
Prior to joining CBSR, Abi worked as an Ecological Restoration Specialist where she implemented carbon off-setting and climate change mitigation efforts. She also had the opportunity to intern as a Sustainability Consultant where she helped to create a CSR strategy for a Fortune 500 company. These combined experiences gave her an understanding of both the creation and implementation stages of ESG & CSR strategies, allowing her to create more effective projects and initiatives.
Abi graduated with a B.Sc. Geography, Minor in Business and Certificate of Sustainability Studies from the University of Calgary. She is excited to apply her education and passion of Sustainability to this role.
In her spare time, Abi enjoys working towards and competing in endurance races. She is a 6-time marathon finisher, and recently completed her first half Ironman in Victoria, BC.
Julian Zambrano is a Professional in Government and Foreign Affairs, a coffee lover and an amateur soccer player. His path in the universe of sustainability and climate change began in his first stage as a professional, contributing technically and operationally to the management of climate change and sustainable development projects at a territorial and local level in Colombia. Julian considers that his path of learning and training is far from over, so he enrolled in the Graduate Program in Green Business Management and Sustainability at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver, to obtain new conceptual and practical tools that are in line with the new trends in corporate social responsibility and decarbonization.
Julian considers that cooperation, honesty, respect and learning must be the fundamental bases of teamwork, so he hopes to be able to generate value for the organization thanks to his experience and values, while learning by doing what he likes the most, contribute to the construction of a more conscious and sustainable world. Finally, he believes that the happiest moments in life are found in the simplest things of daily life, such as taking a walk to breathe, having a good cup of coffee, helping others without expecting anything in return or smile with a loved one.
Julia is a leader in the low carbon economy. As the Program and Operations Director at Canadian Business for Social Responsibility, Julia is excited to work closely with Canadian businesses to help them reach their net zero goals. Julia has considerable expertise using human-centred design principles in solving complex challenges with actionable solutions to help government, industry, and businesses advance their decarbonization goals.
Julia also acts as a consultant at Delphi, working collaboratively on climate change and sustainability projects. Based in Toronto, her day-to-day involves advisory and engagement services across numerous sectors, including; electricity, the circular economy, and transportation.
Julia was formerly awarded the 9th position on Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalist Under 25 for her leadership in the community energy sector. She a Studio Y Fellow at the MaRS Discovery District.
With a background in economics and international development, Julia has a Master of Environmental Studies and Business from York University and Schulich School of Business. Julia has also completed a Certificate in Energy Management from the University of Toronto.

Sandra Hamilton is a Strategic Procurement Advisor and Canada’s First Social MBA. She works with governments, industry and NGO’s to modernize procurement processes and to achieve more social value through public sector supply chains.

Hamilton has over 20 years’ experience as a strategic advisor and business consultant. She is the former Business Manager to Vancouver 2010 Olympics CEO John Furlong and Olympic rower Silken Laumann.
Known for her progressive, trade agreement compliant approach, Hamilton has designed both British Columbia’s & Alberta’s first Social Procurement Frameworks and was recently nominated to profile her work at the World Trade Organization (WTO) Symposium on Sustainable Government Procurement in Geneva.
Hamilton believes that Canada’s anticipated $180 billion investment in infrastructure, must also be an investment in people. Consequently, over the last year she has led an industry supported pilot that has resulted in the design of a standardized approach to community benefit procurement, which can be applied across multiple governments. Believed to be the first of its kind in Canada, pilot collaborators included the Vancouver Island Construction Association, the Construction Foundation, the City of Victoria, Town of Qualicum Beach and City of Campbell River.
In Cumberland, BC, Hamilton designed British Columbia’s first Social Procurement framework, which later became the catalyst for Alberta’s first Social Procurement framework. Hamilton is currently leading an initiative with a group of BC Mayors to advance the concept of a Community Benefit Resource Hub.
Building upon her work with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Hamilton, continues to dedicate one week a month to advancing Social Procurement Alberta. She currently leads the Wood Buffalo Community Benefit Network (WBCBN), which is working toward the implementation of Alberta’s first provincial Community Benefit Infrastructure pilot and is working with the Halton Community Benefit Network to advance a more strategic approach to procurement in Ontario.
Coro Strandberg was instrumental in the development of the Transformational Company Qualities. She is the Principal of Strandberg Consulting, which provides strategy advice to companies and industry associations that seek to integrate social and environmental considerations into their purpose, governance, operations and supply chains to create business value and societal benefit. She specializes in sustainability and corporate social responsibility leadership.
Coro has a tri-sector background in business, government and non-profit sectors working in social, environmental and financial roles. Her insights are drawn from a twenty-year career in the sustainability field, including 12 years as a director of Vancity, where as Chair of the Board she helped position the credit union as an international leader in corporate social responsibility.
